As market makers we’re acting as counterparty to banks, brokers, hedge-funds, and others - and facilitate trades worth hundreds of thousands every day.
In All Options I like the atmosphere, it’s relaxed, but everyone is focused. The main difference compared to other market makers is that we have team-trading, so you’re learning from your colleagues, not in competition with them.
There are lots of active market participants, so it’s a competition to make money, to make good trades. That’s the kick – you’re being smarter than the other guys.
In All Options traders rotate through sectors every few months, as different markets have different levels of competition.
If Chicago really takes off then I definitely want to go there. The international opportunities in All Options are good and it’s about taking on more experience and responsibilities with each step.
