Traders Trophy 2009

The search for the best student trader

What is Traders Trophy?

Traders Trophy The Netherlands, is one of six national competitions that make up Traders Trophy Worldwide, a trading competition where university students compete to be named the best young trader in their country.

Supported by All Options for the second year, Traders Trophy The Netherlands is organised in conjunction with the finance student associations from the leading universities of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Maastricht, Utrecht, Groningen, TU Delft, Tilburg, and Vrije Universiteit.

In 2009, more than 650 students competed in qualification rounds for one of the 42 seats at the final, held in Beursplein 5 and co-sponsored by NYSE Euronext Amsterdam.

The Winners

The winner was Mr Edwin Poh, an exchange student from Singapore, who studied at Maastricht. Edwin was awarded a cheque for €1,000, a trip for two to Chicago, an internship at All Options, and his name engraved on the Traders Trophy cup that resides permanently at the NYSE Euronext Amsterdam exchange.
