All Options sponsors trip to Hong Kong
Learning through teamwork
In February 2009, All Options had the opportunity to sponsor the Vereniging Studenten Actuariaat + Econometrie & Operationele Research's (VSAE) annual International Study Project. From the outset, we knew we didn't only want to a sponsor but also to provide a rich learning experience that would be constructive, instructive, and fun.
Our research team developed an exercise that would help show the participating students how econometrics skills and knowledge can be applied in today’s modern trading environment.
To make it more interesting, we also asked the group to compete in teams of six whilst completing this project. In addition, they had the opportunity to spend two weeks in Hong Kong, and one week of this time was spent at our Hong Kong office.
On their return, we reviewed each team's project report, and awarded the winning team with iPods and other prizes in an informal awards ceremony in our Amsterdam head office. One of our VPs of Trading personally reviewed the teams' presentations and handed out the prizes.
